Komets Rebound to Win Game 2 and Even Series

Down 1-0 in their best-of-7 Opening Round series against the Rapid City Rush, the Fort Wayne Komets struck for two late goals to beat the Rush 3-1 and even the series at one win apiece.  The series now shifts to Fort Wayne for the next three games.

Nick Boucher made 30 saves earning the win and Colin Chaulk scored the game winning goal with just over two minutes remaining in regulation. Read more →

Mavericks take a 3-0 series lead with OT win

The Missouri Mavericks now hold a 3-0 series lead over the Evansville IceMen in the Turner Conference Opening Round after a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory Saturday night in Evansville.

Mavs Dominate IceMen; Take 2-0 Series Lead

The Missouri Mavericks took a 2-0 series lead in the Turner Conference Opening Round with an dominant 7-1 win over the Evansville IceMen Friday night at Ford Center in Evansville.

Rapid City Explodes for Four Third Period Goals

Trailing after giving up two goals to begin the final period, the Rapid City Rush roared back with four unanswered tallies to secure a 6-3 win over the Fort Wayne Komets in game #1 of the Turner Conference Semifinals on Friday night.

A four point night by Jesse Schultz paced all skaters while defenseman Dave Grimson added a three point effort, including his first goal since coming out of retirement. Read more →

Flath’s Hat Trick Leads Thunder Past Killer Bees

RG Flath recorded his first post-season hat trick and Thomas Beauregard added three assists to pace Wichita past Rio Grande Valley, 4-2. Wichita leads the best-of-seven-series 1-0 with Game two taking place on Sunday afternoon.

Thunder begins its quest for a CHL title

Thunder general manager Joel Lomurno is a Cubs or a Phillies fan depending on the day, but he knows that David Cone pitched for the Royals on April 15, 1994.

CHL Celebrates 20th Anniversary Season with Big Crowds

With the 2011-12 regular season concluding this past weekend, the CHL announced today that the average attendance for this past season was the highest since the 2006-07 campaign.

Expectations high as Mavericks begin playoffs

Playoff hockey returns to Kansas City for the third straight season tonight as the Missouri Mavericks take on the Evansville IceMen in the Turner Conference semifinals at the Independence Events Center.

In an odd twist, the third-seeded Mavericks, 39-21-6, will be the home team in the series opener despite losing a tie breaker for the conference’s No. 2 seed to the IceMen, 40-22-4, who owned one more regular-season victory. Read more at: kansascity.com
